pioneer wall bracket v universal

Hi,

No, it's not worth the extra. Any VESA compatible adjustable bracket will do, as long as it's rated for the size and weight of your TV. Whichever bracket you choose, do make sure you buy the correct anchors / fixings for your wall construction, make sure they're rated to take the weight of your TV and use plenty of them. The plugs and screws supplied with some brackets aren't suitable for all types of wall.

They're fixed to either side of the TV with special brackets (included with the speakers).

...You can most likely download the manual from www.pioneer.co.uk to see how they're attached.

I went for the Pioneer one. Perhaps I was ripped off? I don't know.

What I can say is that it is a substantial chunk of well engineered metal, with all the holes in exactly the right place. And my telly won't be falling off the wall without bringing the bricks/plaster down as well.

Well I figure if it's going to fall off I'd just as soon it didn't take the wall down with it. One problem with buying the Pioneer brackets is that if you buy a different brand in future (quite likely now that Pioneer is withdrawing from the TV market), you could find that the holes don't match up.

I use a Vivanco bracket that I picked up about four years ago at a hifi / home cinema show for £50. It only took a minute or two to adjust it so that the holes lined up. At the time I had a 43" Pioneer plasma (435XDE) but I always had a long term plan to upgrade to a 50" model. So I made sure that the bracket was suitable for a TV of that size. I bought an LX5090 a few weeks ago and I have to admit that swapping them over was a bit nerve-wracking. I needn't have worried though.ÿ

I use one of these for my 500a, excellent build, cable routing ok, heavy, could manage on your own to mount but really 2 bods is better. Mounting the TV to the bracket is easy, leveling also simple.
