pioneer vsx lx 60 andya

Hi Andy. Got my vsx lx60 yesterday, bit of a beast to set up but i got there in the end. sounds really good. Ive connected my pana bd 30 via hdmi cable,what should be displayed when playing dolby true on the lx60? many thanks. Paul.

It decodes Dolby TrueHD, so it should display this as long as you're using a HDMI 1.3 certified cable and you have the BD30 set to output audio via the HDMI as bitstream.

Hi professorhat. I have the bd30 connected with hdmi lead and set to bitstream but the lx60 just displays the word digital! any ideas? thanks. paul.

yes this is one issue i also have ! in the maual it says if recieving dolby true hd the reciever should display the little dolby sign and hd at the side of it. but mine only displays the little dolby sign and digital at the side of it.(as if it were recieving dolby digital 5.1) i am phoning pioneer today so will let you know what they say.

also when recieving dts ma the reciever will display dts ! i personally think it should display dts ma or how are you sure its recieving the correct decoding.

they should have set up the reciever to display the different audio codes or how are we supposed to know its working correctly. but it does soung good though.

watched day after tommorow last night with dts ma (i think) the sound is incredible !

Hi Andy. I thought i was doing something wrong. I agree the reciever should display all formats. I am also going to contact my supplier tomorrow. Will let you know if i find anything out. phoned pioneer today but were shut due to bank holiday, will phone again tom.

it's quite annoying that a great reciever like this lets its self down by not displaying the different audio codes (unless were doing something wrong) im sure it would have been a simple thing to have it displaying all the codes. lets hope pioneer sort it for us or they will get a roasting from me.

ps, have looked at the zep dvd myself but not bought it yet, is it worth it. i have whitesnake on standard dvd and that looks and sounds great.

Hi Andy. Thanks for the reply. The led zep blu-ray is worth getting, they have done a good job on both the sound & picture. I also have the whitesnake dvd which is pretty good. Another one that has a good soundtrack is the eagles farewell tour. lets hope tomorrow gets us the answer to our display problem. Paul.

forgot to take pioneer number to work today so phoned when i got in at 5.45 but shey shut at 5.30 ahhhhhhhhh

have put number in my wallet for tom so will defo phone and see what they say.

Hi Andy. Its not the lx60 at fault its the settings on the pana bd30. Im not exactly sure what i did now, but if you go into the settings on the pana and go into easy settings then select default settings then carry on to picture and sound settings and make the relevent adjustments it should work. in the audio quality section the output should be set to bitstream and the secondary audio set to off and the same settings in the user menu. it worked for me. i now have DDTrueHD displayed on the main display. now also have dd true hd on the display, thank you very much, sounds emense. im so glad you bought one, and that i reccomended you buy one, which in turn has helped me.
