Pioneer SC-LX58 or Arcam AVR380

Im looking to get either one of these to replace my Anthem MRX300, also would either of these be better in stereo than the Cambride CXA 60?

I have also seen the Onkyo TX-NR838 for £500, which is more future proof than the other two in regards to 4K tv

Pioneer and Arcam are opposite ends of the sound spectrum, so it's a very personal call. I much prefer Arcam, especially for 2 Channel; while others prefer Pioneer.

How would either compare in stereo to the likes of the cambridge cxa 60? i dont want to give up to much ground if you know what i mean, if there is a big difference then would keep, if not then i would sell the cambridge just do avoid having to swaping speakers over all the time.

This is a hard question for me to answer (for you). I am not familiar with your amp and I've not enjoyed the odd CA when I've heard it.

I would say that Pioneer would have a closer sonic signature to your CA....but I don't like Pioneer, either.

Maybe others can be more helpful.
