Have the lx52 blue ray player and tried to play avatar and itsays i need the latest firmware. I have tried burning the file to CD-ROM but the file size is always slightly smaller than what pioneer says it should be, and I'm dubious about putting it in the player. Any suggestions guys?

Thanks timberman. So the file should be exactly the same size, just to clarify?

Yep as it states on instructions, if there is a difference try try again, it will be worth it,

i have the pioneer BDP320 all i did is connect the cable from my router to blu ray player and download software straight to the player didnt mess around with the burning to dvd its a lot easier doing it this way.

yes the pioneer LX52 does have a ethernet connection as the BDP320 does and the LX52 is the next model up so will have it beats burning to a dvd then installing much easier to download straight to the player.

the ethernet connection is on the right hand side of the machine at the rear near the corner of the machine
