hi its me again, talking to a local store and when i mentioned i had ordered said krp 600a , i got in response oh no not if you like gamming and if u leave sky menues on well ?tv very tempermental ,.now same dealer can get me new philips 21.9 for the same price but ill have to wait and see. but any pioneer owners have mentioned problem would still like to get pionneer but waiting so so so long. thank you everyone..................

Well it depends how sensible you are. I use my plasma (a 3 year old Panasonic) for gaming and also as a PC monitor. I get the odd bit of temporary retention which fades away completely after a bit of normal TV viewing. I've become incerasingly less carefuly with how I use it and have faced no problems at all really. The Pioneer is a much newer and better set than mine so I really can't see it causing you any issues to be honest, unless you leave a static screen on over night for hours upon end.

I'm sure there will be some Pioneer owners who can give first hand experience though.

IMHO this person who has told you this is talking out of his rear end.

I am a avid gamer and have been playing games on my various plasma sets for years and yes you may get the odd bit of temporary image retension but this soon fades, but never have I had any perminant problems.

A friend of mine has the KRP600m and uses his 360 on it every night and his is fine.

I have the Pioneer LX-5090. I play loads of games on my Xbox 360 - Halo 3, COD4, LE4. Lots of First Person Shooters where Lag is important. The Pioneer has a feature that turns all scsreen processing off to give you an awesome screen repsonse time. Perfect for games. And it also has protection modes in place to ensure that its very difficult to suffer from screen burn.

I USE MY KRP-500A for gaming all the time and even fell asleep with it on for a couple of hours and no image retention and no screen burn !!!!!

sounds very odd that any dealer would try to put you off the pioneer as its the finest tv around ?

If it's the same dealer he's ordered the KRP from then I can only imagine the dealer knows he's never going to get any stock and is desperately trying to get him to switch to something else.

If it's a different dealer then he's just touting of course...

Sounds like he's trying to drum up business for the Philips 21:9 - not sure how good that would be for gaming!

i've just been playing cod4 online through my lx5090 for the past 6 hours, my eyes may be stinging but my screens still fine!

thanks guys taught it was a bit suspect myself and was realy pushing philips 21.9 and samsung 63" tvs undercutting the krp 600a. and is organising aviewing evening so i and others can put the philips trough its paces, but they dont stock pionner so in cant compare ,its a pain this tv buying and im loving it......

Hi,

Suspect as this dealer doesn't stock Pioneer - he's not getting your business. If he shows you the 21:9 TV and you cancel your order he's quids in.

Pinch and salt...

Cheers.

Cofnchtr.

Indeed...

I'm really struggling to see how a 21:9 TV can possibly be considered a better gaming alternative than any other standard widescreen TV.

Unless of course it includes all the gaming consoles and loads of free games in the price. Maybe then...
