Pioneer DV610 multi-format DVD

Anyone got the Pioneer DV610, or familiar enough with its spec to know if it will output multichannel sound from DVD-A and SACD over HDMI? Thinking of buying it to partner a Yamaha763, purely for its 5.1 audio abilities at a cheap price (£129).

Yes, provided the amp/receiver can handle them, which the Yamaha can.

The Pioneer manual says

"The HDMI connector outputs uncompressed
digital video, as well as almost every kind of
digital audio that the player is compatible with,
including DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, SACD,
VideoCD/SuperVCD, CD, WMA, MP3,
MPEG-4AAC, DivXvideo and WMV."
