Pioneer DV610 dvd player as SACD player feeding a DAC through SP/DIF?

Some say you can't send an SACD signal with an optical fibre cable to a DAC..? I guess it's down to the player you use because i can play the SACD layer on a SACD hybrid disc like this with my PS3. I'm sure it isn't the standard cd layer i'm playing as i can choose the SACD 2 channel layer in the PS3 menu.

I know for sure it can't be done with multi channel sacd listening hooked up through an optical cable but it's only 2 channel SACD i'm intrested about.

Anyone knows i will be able to play SACD's with the optical output of the pioneer DV610 player?

Did some research and the Pioneer streams dsd through it's hdmi connection. The Oppo players and the PS3 can also convert the dsd signal to pcm for optical connections.

Now if someone knows the Pioneer would do that to...? These things aren't found the brochures...
