Hi

I just went to look at the pioneer bdp-lx71 firmware update information on the pioneer website to see it is not there on the website.

Does anyone know why?

Are they have more issues with there stupid update systems? That mess the players up?

poolmaster,

I just got a bdp 51fd. How do you know what the latest firmware your player has? How do you update firmware, do you go to pioneer's website, download it onto a computer, burn the cd and then pop the cd in the player and install it?

Do you update firmware as soon as it becomes available, or when you have a problem? Are there any discs you have, or had, trouble playing?

Sorry for the endless questions.

Surely pioneer won't remove their firmware updates, why would they do that?

Thanks

You upgrade just as you describe . What hifi test the player it was capable of true hd out of the box, but dts master audio hd was a firm ware upgrade. Check out the review done by What Hifi.

No troubles at all with the player its great. The upgrade is only really to get dts master audio the highest bit rate of sound information transfer currently possible plus a few other thing like bd live etc.
