Very nice, congrats!

Looks lovey, some really nice shots. There's really very little in it between the VT and the ZT, you've got yourself one of the best TV's around!

im waiting for my retailer to arrange collection of the tv so they can do their own testing and for my credit card firm to look into the issue as well, sent them all the docs last week. Just seem to always be waiting :wall:

Fingers crossed then. Hopefully you will get it sorted soon. Keep us updated.

Gel, don't bother thinking, just do it. Of my four televsions, the two that I currently watch the most often (although that may change in November when I will be using the second bedroom more) are the HD Ready (not even full HD) Pioneer 428XD in my bedroom, and the much-maligned LG 60PZ950T in the kitchen, and sometimes it strikes me how good the pictures on both of them are, with both ordinary TV programmes (even standard definition, not even high-definition - for instance, Quest, Freeview channel 38, BBC4 Channel 5 etc, can all look pretty impressive) and even more so with Blu-Ray, where the detail on both televisions is more than was the case before Steve Withers calibrated all four of my machines, not to mention the colours being more correct. Yesterday I went back to the pre-calibration preset on the Pioneer, and it looked almost as garish as an LED set in a shop display! And your new 50VT65 is capable of more than any of mine. Listen to me, Mr Malarky, ellisdj, Strapped for Cash etc: calibration, of your VT65 television more than most machines, will be well worth it. I fully accept that its picture is very good now, but it will be even better after calibration.

Sorry Oldboy, I didn't mean to omit you from the list of those who have had their sets calibrated!

How very dare you leave me out of that list Son_of_SJ

Totally agree with you regarding gels VT65 being calibrated but he does have genuine and completely valid concerns with getting it carried out, after having his fair share of faulty TVs of late I can't say I blame him in being hesitant...I would be in his position. I'm sure after he has run it in and no problems have reared their ugly head he may think about it more seriously but after being in a similar position myself with faulty TVs I can totally understand why he is reluctant but hopefully time will heel those wounds.

It will look a lot better after calibration though so let's hope he gets it done at some point as that TV is capable of reference picture levels.

Gel you would have got better results from calibrating your 50 Panny than buying the 65 Panny - it would have given a better image without doubt.

Put the money aside and get it done - or pay me (cheap rate) and I will do it for you. I am not fast but I am good :)
