I have decent cables for most of my kit but need a digital coax for BDplayer to amp and 2 phono cables for my TT. I have a spare Monster Component cable. If i split this 3 cable down to 2 and 1 RCA lead - is this OK? Are Phono/digital cables basically the same? Are they better than some old RCA lengths?

Comments welcome. Cheers

Coax cables are usually rated at 75ohm. If the phono cable has greater impedance, then there's a problem and performance could be affected.

SOB SOB - Can know one help me ?

I had same problem, so I bought a coaxial cable of amazon today for £5 and its very highly rated.

If the component video cable is a true component video cable – ie made to conform to the 75ohm impedance requirement for such cables – it should be fine as a digital audio interconnect.
