Philips Series 7 Vs. Sony 40V4000

Hi I need an extremely quick response from someone that knows.

I'm about to by 3 40"-42" LCD TV's. For my two brothers and I.

I'm down to to main models the 42" Philips series 7 (I think it's the 7603) and the Sony 40" 40V4000.

What should I buy and why?

I would probably go for the Philips as that particular model would probably offer more insight to Colour, Black levels, better Picture Processing units, has an extra HDMI port as to the Sony and would be better for SD watching and HD watching. The Sony is also very good budget TV as the Philips. Read these two reviews

The Philips scored higher, though its an accuired taste in terms of how it looks.

I read the two reviews before posting my question, and I just couldn't rigure out which one is better. It would seem the Philips is better in SD, but I needed some solid advice since my knowledg is very limited in this field.

I too would go for the Phillips. Its a great set and i had been looking to purchasing it myself! However, be quick, i have seen the prices of this set go up since christmas.
