I have just seen this tv, it's LED 40 inches weighs in at 33.5KG,

And cost a mere £4000.

it seems it is a new model , i found a review dated nov 09 , £4000 ? what ? thats £2200 more than the 40pfl9704

at this rate philips 3d tvs will be what ?? £6k ...

I know, shocking isn't it, I can't believe how much it weighs for a LED, and they are definetely getting more expensive, I blame the recession for this a bit.

It's just the 09 version of the Aeura or whatever. Always been way over priced, previous model was 9903 or something, just like the year before we hade the 9703/9803 now we have the 9704. I like ambilight but to have the whole frame changing colour aswell.... yuck. In my eyes it's a 9704 with ambilight on crack for an extra 2k. Even I think this one is a rip off

I am having great difficulty working out, what is what with philips these days,

For example is 9604 less high end than 9664?

9704 has obviously is the next one up, that is quite clear now.

well the 9604 was only available in 32-37in , thats the entry level 9 series ..

the 9664 was theyre top conventionally lit lcd..

9704 you got led backlighting with local dimming..

then the one you informed us all about this morning , the 9904 which is the same as the 9704 plus a few lights on the front for which they charge £2200 ..

just for the lights

they must be nice lights

Should be interesting when the new 40pfl9705 comes out, I have heard nothing about the replacement for the philips 42pfl9664, anyone know which one is replacing that?

i have just thought of a possible replacment code the philips 42pfl9665 but done a search on it but nothing.
