Ordered one on WHF's review. Am waiting for it. Has anyone else bought one? Cos there's not been a buyer/user review so far and I'm starting to worry!

No need to worry. It's a fantastic set and I'm sure you'll love it.

Let's hope so. I don't profess to know anything about tech specs etc (obviously). But I don't dive in (research + reviews). I had ordered a 32pfl7404 off amazon, WHF best buy. And while waiting for dispatch, saw the review for the 37" 9604 + thought I can always earn more money + would hate to wonder,so...went for it. It's to go with a Sony BDP-S760 via a Chord Company Supershield HDMI (swayed by this site or what!). Just want a good telly to enjoy tv + blu-rays with

You'll love it.Had choice of this or 42PFL7404. Chose cheaper set due to young child, and the fact that i eventually want to sell my projector so wished for something larger.

Just keep in mind that i adore Philips TV's:

But, they take a while to run in to get the best from them.

and the picture will look over processed to begin with.

(Remember Sharpness was only originally made for Analogue sets to boost detail but 1080 lines on a 1080p set is correct anyway. Youll see this straight away as lines will (block) so just turn down. Have mine and previous sets on 'Zero'.

Just hold back a little on any advanced settings and you're gonna be amazed.

I've had mine since early November and couldn't be more happy with it. The picture is quite a amazing and the sound just blows away every other current 37" set. Even some of the poor quality channels look pretty good at my standard viewing distance. It certainly takes a little time to get the optimum screen setup but it's worth the little bit of effort.

The only real problems are the speed of Net TV and flaky DLNA support.

Can I just ask the philips owners of this tv, does it have factory setting's for the picture on them still as I do like the option of both?

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback guys. Bunceheating- I've got one coming from Sound + Vision (bolton) £999 w 5 yr warranty. Supposed to have been delivered to the store in the last 2 weeks. But apparently there's a delay from Philips.

Yes there are a list of factory settings for each input (standard, vivid, cinema, etc) + a personal one. You need to be slightly careful as the personal settings will get overwritten if you modify one of the factory settings - just remember to keep a note of your personal settings.

Completely noob question....

I'm very interested in this set but don't like the look of the ambient light thing. Can it be turned off?

Also, is there anywhere where I could find peoples list of prefered settings / tweaks for this beast?

Thanks in advance.
