PCM Recorders

Hi I am thinking of getting an Olympus LS 11 recorder but was just wondering, does anyone know how well it (or other PCM recorder for that matter), or similar, say Sony's PCM M10, record via their line in.  I was thinking of using it as a means of recording and digitising some vinyl that I can easily download onto my Mac?  I know these recorders are very capable reorders when using their built in mics but there is little or no information available about how capable they are as recorders when using the line in input?  How good is the recording quality, does it stand up to say a mini disc recording?

Why don't you just record it direct to your Mac? Get a half-decent phono stage (for about 200 quid less than the Olympus voice recorder) and record into the mic in?

Thanks for your reply, I wasÿbeginning to think no one was interested. ÿThe thing is I'd not be getting the recorder for Hi Fi, Id be using it for dialog recordings too. ÿI'm a Final Cut user and I'm into event filming and editing etc. ÿIf it can record music well, it'd be a bonus?
