Minidisc

So a few months ago I posted a thread about taking a punt on eBay for a £30 portable minidisc recorder a piece of tech I always wanted back in the day. Well back in June I bought a Tascam MD350 from eBay I'm slowly getting through my cassettes and putting them on minidisc. I also did a little experiment of using Chromecast audio connected via toslink to the front optical input and recording an album off Spotify. It worked really well.
I know many will be thinking why record off Spotify, when Spotify is always there on whatever device you want, all I can say is just humour a middle aged bloke with his toys. I'm having fun.

I maintain the minor revival of cassettes is an atrocity and nothing more than a fad for gullible fools who like p**ssing their money down the drain literally.

I actually would prefer a Minidisc revival.

My "college (beer) fund" was spend lugging a minidisc recorder into my friends DJ booth and recording his sets. I would then copy the recordings to computer and write to five CD-Rs which I labled up "DJ No Ego" and sold back to the very bars / clubs he was playing at for them to load into their five disc changers to provide background music during the daytime and early evening. Worked a treat for a year or two!
