I wonder if anybody out there can help, I`ve made a bit of a booboo, I have a Acer Aspire x1300 sff desktop and have just bought a new sound card, it being the asus hdav 1.3 slim, but the card is for a pci slot and i`ve got a pci-e slot, is there anybody that can advise on an adapter for this problem even if it means having to use the card outside of the casing, the reason I had the card was to use the hdmi connection to my av system. Many thanks for any advice.

Thanks for the replies but decided to return item and have found an pci-e sound card instead.

Thank you

If you bought online you have a cooling-off period anyway, so you can return it with no discussion. If you bought it from Amazon you will find they will do anything to help you.

If you bought retail store ask politley if you can change the model. As long as it's as new they will probably agree.

Hehe, that was probably everybody's first thought, but i thought it was second hand. Yes , sending it return and getting a pcix is by far the easiest way.🙂. Though you see expensive studiocards coming at the

market first are often pci, but those are real high grade , still not cheap and often in pairs... for the clock generator etc. but if you want accurate... that's accurate.

Have fun with your soundcard
