Panny BD55 - how to get it multi region for blu ray.

Just picked up a panny bd55 and I’m a little confused with the options of making this player multi region for blu ray.  I've been told that it needs hardware up-date and some say they have a coding sent via remote control which changes the firmware to multi blu ray region??

 Does anyone know the solution or have done any of these?

As far as I know the various strategies on offer can make it region-free for DVD playback, not Blu-ray Disc. Rather more work is/would be needed to make it region-free for BD playback, although there are some companies claiming to have BD/DVD region-free players for sale.
