Hi

Comet are selling this TV on their web site, i asked if it was the PZ80 as Panasonic are not aware of the PZ82 and was this a typo or is this a model specifically re badged for Comet (which does happen)

Sadly they could not tell me either way.

I am waiting for the PZ80 as i dont want to spend the extra on the PZ85s features.

Can anyone help please

Why do you want to do business with a shop that doesnt even know the correct model numbers?

You can find the PZ80 elsewhere for £200 less, and hopefully the prices will drop further as this model becomes widely available.

I'd imagine that is a typo made by some dimwitted fool at the Comet office.

I would not use Comet after the issues 1st time around

On this occasion they have agreed to take back my PZ70 at full price paid and exchange for PZ80 or 85 with some cash as i complained i was sold the incorrect TV originally (February)

I only watch Blu Ray and was a TV novice, after 20 minutes with the sales guy he said the PZ70 was the only TV worth having for Blu Ray, clearly not the case with no proper 24FPS support, i made a fuss and they agreed to exchange as i said i was sold the wrong TV for my useage.

Currently waiting for the PZ80 to arrive at Comet

Hi,

I think this is a case of model number changing to stop price comparison with other retailers. Have you not seen the same TV in different stores with differing model numbers?? If you read through the specs its an 85 without the SD card reader. £200 is a lot for an SD reader!!!!

More like some spotty faced twit was too busy playing on his PSP while trying to type up the product description on the website.... steer well clear, if it's not on the Panny website, I wouldn't bother.... in fact, don't bother with currys or comet at all, go to john lewis and price match against Sound and Vision Bolton, everyone else is!

I was looking at the TH-42PZ85B in Comet, and one of their guys (who did appear to have some reasonable knowledge) indicated that the 82 was actually the 85, done as a special for Comet.

I can't be certain on the validity of this, but if the details on the card were to be believed, it did have the same features as the 85, but with (if memory serves me right) a gun metal grey bottom plate instead of the silver on the 85. It was also a bit cheaper than the 85.

Sounds like another pointless marketing ploy or possibly an attempt for Comet to increase it's margin.... shouldn't matter anyway because you'll be getting one cheaper from John Lewis with a free 5 yr warranty, won't you?
