Have finally decided which tv i am going to purchase. After all the fantastic reviews given by almost everyone, my choice is one of the panasonic plasmas.

One question left i would appreciate some advice on.

Is there any reason i should purchase the new 42px80 plasma over the older 42pz70? (can't afford the pz80 unfortunatley) Reasons for and against both would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Well, if you can hang on until our June issue is published on May 1st, the Panasonic TH-42PX80 is the lead First Test and we'll have a double-page spread telling you exactly what we think of it.

At this distance there is no point getting a 1080p set, too far away to make out any of the extra HD detail.

Go for the PX80.

Definitely, at this distance I'd question if you need to be looking at a 50" or perhaps even bigger?

Definitely with the Prof on this one. From 6-7m all the claimed niceties of Full HD will be wasted. I'd say at least a 50in set would be suitable, and maybe even a 60in or thereabouts.

Test upcoming in the June issue of some of these big sets - shameless plug mode now disengaged.

I own one , can I give you a hint! Have a better Picture quality than the PZ70 and has better spec too.

They are superb and all for £699.
