Panasonic or Sony HDD DVD Recorder to go with TH-37PX80B

All, excellent previous advice here led me to purchase the Panasonic 37" plasma TH-37PX80B, which I am extremely happy with. I now want a HDD DVD PVR to accompany it, and had presumed that a Panasonic model would be the obvious choice to accompany it. However, the Sony model would seem to have better chaptering (primarily for skipping ads post recording), so I am torn, and would greatly appreciate your input. The primary use for the device would be for HDD recording from Freeview, and DVD playback.I do not anticipate actually recording DVDs very much.All things being equal I'd go for the Panasonic for the obvious advantages of shared remote controls, integration etc, but if the Sony is a truly superior device I will happily sacrifice this. Thanks in advance for any comments.

Apologies - I forgot to mention that the models I am considering are the Sony RDR-HXD890 and the Panasonic DMR-EX768EBK.
