Hi folks-just picked up the Awards Issue & I'm after some clarification of pricing for this Blu-Ray.

In October's(?) issue, the RRP was £300, but on Page 80 of the Awards the RRP's down to £250.

The Buyers guide price (Page 136 in Awards) says £300...so is the £250 a misprint?

Would really like to upgrade my Pioneer DV-600AV but don't want to jump in & pre-order at around £300 just to have a £50 price drop as soon as this Blu is released....

No such thing as an RRP now. These have been illegal for some time so pricing is down to what you can get it for. The prices given in magazines can only ever be a guide price based on the normal margin the manufacturers or magazine might expect a retailer to make on a product.

The original 'guide' price (manufacturers aren't allowed to set RRPs on DVD players) was £300 back in October, but in reality it's now nearer £250 with Amazon selling it for £265, for example. A quick Pricerunner check shows prices from £250-£300, so it pays to shop around.
