Panasonic BD-50 release date/review?

Is there an official UK release date for the Panasonic BD-50 blue-ray player, and do you know what sort of price it will retail at?

I have just bought a new Panasonic Plasma and am itching to test it with a ful hd signal. I can't decide whether to just get the BD-30 or wait a little bit longer for the BD--50.

Will you be getting one in for review any time soon?

I am in exactly the same position... Well I only have a 40inch Sony X3500, but am looking at a stand alone BR player so I can light up my Onkyo 705 rather than PCM it from the PS3.

I hardly watch extras so am thinking the BD30 may suit me cos I won't watch much of the BD Live stuff but hate the idea of not having something...

I also have to factor in some home plugs so I can connect the BD50 to my router etc. The cost column starts to add up quite quickley!!

I heard June 10 from more than a few sources but no prices... Rumours of £499 right up to £1,000!!

As we wrote here, the official UK launch is next Tuesday. Price expected to be @£500, I believe.

We'll be picking up review kit next week, too, hopefully.

It is of course your money and you are naturally free to do as you wish, but are you really considering spending £300+ just to get a little light on your amp?

Excellent thanks - looking forward to the review - do you think you might post it on here? My sky hd is being installed at the weekend so hopefully that should keep me happy until I decide on which blue ray player to get.
