I would say if you put it next to a big older generation or a newer plasma it would behave in the same way though. I think a LCD would solve the problem completely.

LED TVs mask certain issues through motion blur, though of course LED TVs don't resolve as many lines during panning shots. It's really a case of pick your poison.
