Panasonic 46PZ85 or Sony 46W4000

Hi everyone, I would like some input from you concerning the Panny and the Sony ; Firstly the Panasonic I have read that the Freeview picture is shocking compared to the Sony, ah the sony well this does not have 100htz refresh so I believe there is slight motion smear.My old 18yr crt has finally given up on me, so I need some help and advise on what to choose. I shall be sitting approx 3.5 mts away watching some HD from Freesat some BD but mainly SD from my Freesat box, and I need th Tv A.S.A.P.

Well, we haven't tested the Sony in 46in guise (only 40in), but we did make a couple of comments about the Panasonic 46PZ85: "Some minor picture noise arrrives with the switch to viewing standard-definition DVD, and though the onboard tuners are relatively efficient, there's a definite restlessness to edges and some uncertainty with dark tones."

Given that you'll be watching a lot of SD material, I'd check out the Sony.
