I am considering the samsung 37A656 and the panasonic 37 X10. I can't find the sammy in shops to compare but comparing the pananasonis to other samsungs, i noticed that for HD the Samsung was brighter and sharper but for SD the Panasonic was more forgiving.

for £600, would i be better of with the X10 which includes a 5yr warranty (from may 1st) or the older samsung model with 1yr warranty (seems to has lower contracts ratio)?

or would I be better of holding of for a month or two until the Sony 37V5500 and Sansung 37B650 drop in prices to 700 for the samsung and 650 for the Sony

If only the Panasonic X10 was sharper!!!!

I sit 2.7metres from the screen or i would have gone for the Samsung LE-40B650 or Sony KDL-40W4000

let us all know how you get on with this and what swayed your decision

......I want a 37inch screen (max I can get to fit in gap without divorce) and want it all.....good sd through virgin, full hd so I can switch to blu-ray........and minimal gaming lag

I've had the 37PX10 for over a month now - I think its great and as importantly so does the wife, since I had to persuade her we needed a new set blah blah blah...... With SD its brilliant (we compared it side by side with the 42" version and the 37 looked sharper) and both BluRay & upscaled DVD through a PS3 look awesome

. On top of that, the PS3 games are sooooo much better than my old 32" panny CRT, no lag at all even on racing games, just super smooth & glorious. No idea how it compares to that Samsung but we spent ages looking at the panny range, a few Samsungs, Sharps & LGs including full HD LCDs and still preferred the 37PX10 over them all.
