Optical Lead Or Digital Coax???????????

I need either another coax or a optical lead and would like to know which is better to conect sky hd to the onkyo606. I have it connected upto kef 2005.3 also with a ps3 and just wondered which is best way to hook up for sound and is one better than the other prob looking at getting the qed leads

Theoretically, over shortish run's, coaxial should be better than optical as there is less/no conversion going on.I.E with coaxial its a direct electrical connection,but with optical you've got an electrical signal being converted to an optical(light) signal and then converted back to electrical again.

But in reality i doubt whether you'll notice any difference.
