That’s because it’s a dam good player with so meany settings on it and there isn’t any other player on the market that does what the OPPO does as settings goes .

And I can’t see the other manufactures making there players to the same quality as OPPO and the very good customer service and updates that’s what OPPO was very good for . That’s what customers want but can’t see it happening with the other company’s

Sony is the next best player to the Oppo and let’s hope they pickup where OPPO left off

I agree, I wasn’t that bothered when I first heard but I really do appreciate my Oppo.

no I’m moving away from physical media, it’s a dying thing.

but it's no where near its last breath!

of course, and certainly not on an enthusiast’s forum like this!

It will die though and Oppo’s withdrawal from the market is further evidence of this.

Re recorded media dying out - 35 years ago people were saying the same thing about those big round flat black things....

Re features - I don't want a gazillion options or features. All I want is a device that transfers the best possible signal to my AVR and or TV. Play, fast forward and reverse, chapter select and THAT'S IT please! Both my AVR and TV has got more settings than most people (certainly yours truly) can cope with anyway...
