My pj set up should only be 2 or 3 weeks away, so I'm now seriously thinking about components. The Oppo players have always been in my mind, because they can act as processor with active speakers and have hdmi inputs. I thought that I needed too much kit, but now I know I can get Sky on my PS4, the Oppo is perfect.

I think I need just the EU version, some reviewers have commented that the Darbee processing is a bit of a gimmick.

The screen will be c. 100"+, so maybe it might make some difference.

Im interested to hear people's thoughts, especially if they've done a direct comparison in a pj setup.

Because Sky are the pits at streaming and have the worst PQ of any streaming service (both NowTV and Sky Go)

Yes, I've tried nowtv on my 92" screen (on Roku & Chromecast) and its unwatchable.

Using a large 65 inch TV Darbee never made any significant difference to me. I had it standalone then onboard a 103D but ended switching it off. Might be different with a big screen/projector setup.

I have just signed up to Sky Go Extra (which I will use on my ps4). I get a 2 month free trial, so will have a few weeks to assess on my 60" TV, and then on the larger screen. If I find it unacceptable I'll cancel it and look elsewhere, but I am really attracted by the fact that I can keep the box count down.

it would be great if I could view both. The installer I'm using has a 103 but I'm not sure which version.

I've watched a couple of program's on Sky on ps4. Whilst the picture looks a little soft it most certainly is not unwatchable. I'll stick with it for the free trial at least. I must admit, the inability to skip the adds is a bit of a pain, but the breaks are nothing like the live tv ones.

Any deficiencies are more than outweighed by the simplified system.

Re re the Oppo players. I've read the reviews for both on WHF and cannot believe they failed to mention their use as a surround processor. A very important feature in my mind, any serious review should at least mention it.

Darbee processing is like marmite. If you read various reviews, some liked it and some didn't. Didn't appreciate much of a difference on my 50-inch TV. What Hi Fi? tested it on a TV, not a projector. I enjoy the slightly sharper pictures on my projector.
