Opinions on speaker system please...

I am looking to make a new setup and do not have the room for a conventional 5.1 speaker package.

As much as I like the idea of misson cube, the center speaker will look a bit naf.

I have my heart pretty much set on the Q ACOUSTICS QAV 5.1 which seems a nice solution, but wonder if a Yamaha sound bar would be better.

Any opinions on this or further ideas?

For just a bit more than the QA and Missions you could get the Monitor Audio vectors which are 4 star what hifi rated at £900 but you can get them cheaper here

They would be my choice for what you are looking at.

thx, but the speaker size at the front of the room is the problem and one would often be covered by a door.

it is really a question of q-av or sound bar for that room.

You might not like the look of the mcube centre but I think they'll sound a lot better than the QAV or sound bar.

I would definitely choose the Q-AV over the soundbar. You'll get better surround sound with rear speakers, rather than just virtual surround sound.

I got the answer to this one just shout at everyone who leaves the door open in front of the speaker until they get the message not to leave it open in front of the speaker , that what i had to do !!!!! LOL.

Just close the door whilst watching a movie? TV etc doesnt require surround sound tbh

You could place the satellites on a side wall above door level as this always sounds good,especially if its 1m away from the listener

i had expected a close the door comment

but when i shout close the door they just look at me, plus i do not want to have to get up and open it

i heard the qav system in a demo and it was nice, but i was wondering who else had been through this and may have gone for a sound bar.
