Hi

I've recently been the enjoying the delights of my Marantz cr603 and Focal 706v's. A bit too much as it turns out as my wife has complained about me playing it too loud ("you can hear it outside on the street!" etc.), so I'm looking at some decent headphones for home use only. I recently heard some AKG 550's at Selfridges and loved the open sound (despite be closed back) so started to look at other headphones. The thing is I hate wearing closed back headphones at home as I like to hear what's going on around me. So I've done a bit of research online and have fallen in love with the Fidelio X1.

The question is will these be any good for rock? I do listen to all sorts of music, but progressive rock and blues are my favourite.

I'm open to any other suggestions.

thank's, cookie

Hi cookie you are doing something wrong if you can hear anything above your music  some one with a lot more knowledge than me will be along soon and I am sure they will have the answer :)

Beyerdynamic DT990 or T90 would be good shouts, as would Audio-Technica ATH-AD900X.

(Or the Motorheadphones Motorizer if you want to make your ears bleed with the volume at a low price). :shifty:
