Hello everyone!

Given the current exchange rate between £ and €, I am seriously considering to buy a home cinema system from a UK online shop.

I would like to have comments from people who did it (are there things to be aware of, potential issues/incompatiblities?). It seems that although plug adapters are needed, the power voltage and frequencies are the same between UK and mainland Europe (http://kropla.com/electric2.htm). Anything else?

Also, I find it quite hard to find UK shops shipping to continental Europe (I found http://www.concept-av.co.uk ).

Any advice or address is welcome. Thanks you!

I'm also "on the continent" since a few years back and I have not experienced any compatibility issues other than different mains plugs (easy enough to change). All of europe are on 50Hz mains and while there are some small variations in voltage, no sane manufacturer would designed different models for different countries.

The retailers may very well be contractually prohibited from selling outside the UK. The manufacturers like to charge as much as each country can handle. Free market economy and all that. Then again, we're free to buy wherever we like.

This company lists international contact numbers. I have no experience of them though.
