Just bought Onkyo TX8150. I have an ancient pair of Monitor Audio silver 7s.

Can anyone advise on a current speaker match?

Welcome to the forum. Without trying to be funny the answer is no.

Much more information about your listening room would be needed and preferences, standmount or floorstanding. As I have said many times on here you don't need to match speakers to the receiver / amp you need them to work well in your room most importantly.

Thanks for feedback.

Room is 18 ft by 12 ft. Preference is standmount. I have a 5.1 system in another room with Denon and Monitor Audio Radius. I bought the Onkyo to be a base for a stereo only system although I do intend to connect a TV. I will also connect my venerable Philips CD 850 Mk 2 CD player and probably a turntable. I intend using Spotify connect for general use along with Tunein Radio. The room has a wood floor and virtually no soft furnishings, so is a 'bright' environment. I would prefer a somewhat softer sound. I bought the Onkyo without audition as I could not find one locally.

All suggestions gratefully accepted.

Thanks. Musical preferences, and more importantly budget?

Do you have stands or would these have to be factored into your budget?

Budget is £600 including stands. Music preferences are wide ranging, popular, but some classical and opera as well.
