Onkyo TX-SR606 plus Tannoy SFX5.1 a good combo???

Are these speakers any good for my amp and will the amp perform as good.

or do i need better speakers? more powerful?

i am stuck for space and need something small for my games room?

Hi there,
You can definitely get better style speakers for more money, do you have a bigger budget in mind or just looking at £200 - £300 range? At that budget, the Jamo A102HCS5 package is worth looking at.

the Jamo A102HCS5 sound like a good buy. And i am on a tight budget, so these would be ideal.

my only concern is the freq response, will they sound good on low volume i.e night time listerning? would i have to turn the volume up to get the desired effect? and is the sub active or passive?

the Tannoy EFX5.1 i can get for around £100, but i dont mind paying the extra for the Jammos as it seems a better package.

Pretty sure it's an active sub. Didn't listen to it at a particularly low volume so an audition may well be in order before you buy to make sure it's okay.
