Onkyo 875 & KHT2005.1 Set Up

Hi all

Just taken delivery of my Onkyo 875 and am a bit confused as to how to set-up

my KEFs. Got them set as THX80 in the speaker menu, but does that mean

the Onk thinks they're are full range? 

BTW getting slightly worried about the 875s failure rates.

I have recently bought the 875 and have the same speakers. The KEF book of words says that

they should be set to 80Hz, and I think it's just coincidence that the Onk has THX for the same

frequency. I was immediately impressed with the clarity, particularly of voices from the centre,

but overall much crisper than my old Denon 2803. I have been reading the threads on exploding

amps and fires and other failures, but huge numbers have been sold so I would expect more

failures than models selling fewer numbers. I am looking into constructing a cooling unit using

ultra quiet computer fans to sit on top to reduce the risk. Will post again if it works!

Meanwhile, enjoy the sounds and buy a small powder fire extinguisher. 🙂
