Onkyo 607 connections

Whats the best way to connect bluray player, sky+HD box and PS3 to this amp to get all the new sound formats thru my Panasonic 46PZ81 as it only has 2 optical connectors. Is it all done thru the HDMI leads alone?

HDMI to the AMP from the BD player and the PS3 and HDMI to the TV.

HDMI from the SKY HD to the TV and Optical Coax(?) to the amp from the SKY box.

neither am I butIIRC it only does stereo Via HDMI. BUT even if it does 5.1 via HDMI i would still do it that way as it makes it easy not having to play with the AMP just for TV watching.

Yeh that explains why there are so few coax/optical connections on these modern day amps as my old Yamaha{about 7 years old} has about 5 of them.
