onkyo 606 help

hi iv bought a onkyo 606 could i use a composite video and audio scart lead with 606... iv tried pluggin in scart into my eurovox max digital box and putting the 3 red yellow blue cables in cable/tv into 606 and i cant seem to get it to work.. can sumone giv me sum advice. thanx

Bit confused by your post, do you mean you have a Scart output from your digibox and you're using a Scart cable which converts to yellow (video) and red/white (audio) cables (like this one)? If so, make sure you're plugging the yellow cable into the Cable/TV composite input and the red/white cables into the Cable/TV audio input and not the Cable/TV component input (which will have a red, green and blue ports on the back).

yes mate. i put playstation through via hdmi. but cant get that scart cable to work iv put red and white lead into cable /sat marked red and white and yellow into cable/sat.. cant get it to work wots settings would i have to change to get it to work iv messed about with it and got nothing

Have you got the digi box set to output composite from the scart output and not RGB. Can you get picture/sound if you plug the digi box via the scart composite cable direct into your tv (missing out the 606)?

on the menu on me digi box iv tried changing video out put to cvbs and rgb and still no pic or sound through 606...if i put 3 plugs red blue yellow into digi box then put scart into tv using rgb and cvbs i get pic and sound..will i have to do something with setting on my 606

Sounds like the cable is set up to input a signal from a composite source into a Scart device, rather than output from Scart to composite. Different pins on the Scart carry the in and out signals, which would explain the problem you have

thanx for advice....im just gonna buy sum stero jack leads to put from my digital box.... im getting a TH42PZ81B and was wondering how will i get the best sound from tv through to my amp any suggestions

The Panasonic TH-42PZ81B has a digital audio output on the back of the tv, & the onkyo 606 has a digital audio input on the back, -so that would be the best way to connect the audio.
