Onkyo 605 with br2 or Rotel RA04 with B+W 685s

Hi,

I am new to the forum, and I am ripping my hair out as to which of the above to go for. I listen to all sorts of music (esp Rock) and this will be the main use for this setup, however I am a bit of a sucker for a receiver.

Both combinations fit my budget perfectly and I cant spend a penny more.

Bring it on and help me make up my mind

The BR2 are not even in the same league as the 685's. The 685's are a much better speaker in all area's they have more bass which is also deep, good high end which the BR2's dont have and the Midrange isnt really there on the BR2's. By all accounts the RA04 with the 685's are a very good match, But i cant say as i havent listened to the RA04.

I have decided on the 685s and their are a couple of new contenders to the amp debate. The pioneer a a6-j or the rotel RA05 (upped the amp budget slightly!!!

Good job the BR2's only cost £180, whereas the B&W 685's cost £380. Different price band. And yes, I do have the BR2's
