Onkyo 605,Tosh HD-E1. HD Audio Formats

Hello

Does anyone know whether i can get Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital true HD in 5.1 from the Toshiba HD-E1 through a hdmi cable into the onkyo and how do i do it?? Please Help

my settings with the EX1
To get the lights to show on the Onk. set the Tosh as follows.

Digital Out SPDIF---> Bitstream

Digital out HDMI---->Auto

Digital Direct Audio Mode----->On

Dynamic Range Control------>Off

Dialog Enhancement------>Off

then you will get the DTS MA and the DD Tru showing.

Hi

you will not be able to get the true hd light on with the onkyo 605 I have the E1 and it works a treat but it shows as multichannel pcm on the onk display. the ex1 has extra features which enable it (the onkyo) to see the stream as true hd.

My settings are as nads has suggested other than direct digital audio mode which is missing on the E1.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Bc i have all the settings as you say but when i put the audio through the hdmi cable it shows on the onkyo display as hdmi through and not multichannel pcm? It also sounds better through the optical lead and automatically switches to DD or DTS.Which is the best audio connection to use?

Hi

I have mine only connected via HDMI 1.3 cable, so i would suggest you try that.

When using a normal dvd it shows as DD or DTS on the onkyo, if its true hd it shows as multichannel pcm or fst pcm and 96khz.

DD and DTS sound a lot louder i must admit.
