Onkyo 605 sound output

Hi, i have the following equipment

Components list
Samsung le37
Onkyo sr605
Denon 1940
PS3
Wii
Kef 3005
Ipod dock

I have reset all of the system and dont seem to be getting a reasonable level of output from the Kef speakers.
Running all components, i have to raise the amp to 45 on the output to get a reasonable level of sound from the speakers. I wouldnt have thought that i would have to operate at these levels in a room which is 16 by 12. Does anyone have any ideas?

What's the maximum volume? I seem to remember someone saying the Onkyo's all work on a progressive scale so the difference in volume between 40 - 60 is much larger compared to the difference between 20 - 40.

Hi prof scale up to 99.

Previously it had run at about 35 and the sound was fine, did a full reset and now seems to need 45 plus. Also ipod runs quiet even when set at max on ipod.

How strange... no answers for this I'm afraid other than running the setup process again.

Hi Prof thanks for your help. since you are being so obliging.

The output on the sytem seems to be what i would call underweight. Sound generally isnt very punchy, not much substance. I have set all the output modes to match i.e. True HD to true HD, DTs to DTS. Any ideas there
