Max you could always sell your amp and speakers and tv and just have the pioneer tv and your blu ray player, the speakers on the pioneer are amazing?

You seem to really want one Max, then in the future get another speaker package and amp?

if i thought id raise enough money gel i would do that, but its very difficult to sell stuff at the moment, ireland is in a really bad way and people are not buying many luxury items..

i rang munstersounds this morning, but alas jack cant keep the kuro for me, he's had alot of interest in it and expects to sell it before the weekend

Max i was looking through my awards issue again last night and was checking out the ads at the back, your munster sounds advertises in there and they make it clear they accept trade ins. With them advertising it they could do really good deals might be worth another call and to look at the figures involved.

Edit that just looked at the page again looks like it has been snapped up.

Back to the amps then, perhaps see what they got there to trade in.

ive been thinking about getting a new avr, but i think there may be more value for money in getting a blu-ray player with analogue outs, like the s760, and a top of the range avr from a few years back that doesnt have hdmi inputs (if they have hdmi inputs they will probably be too expensive)...

does anyone have any suggestions for high end avr's that would have cost a packet a few years back? id like to keep an eye on ebay to get an idea of the prices these older uber amps are going for now... ta..

Older top range AVR. are still great option with a good bd-player, but i would say a new Mid range AVR. will play more Discreet , with less distortion and cleaner power.

hi gel..

yea it looks like its gone, i didnt think it would stick around at that price, hopefully there will be a few around next spring when some owners will want to change to an 011 set...

as for a new avr? well, its like this.. my current yamaha 765 does a fine job, but ive got some nice speakers now (getting walnut bx1's for rears in the next couple of weeks) and im more curious than anything as to what they may sound like with a more powerful amp..

but i dont believe it would be worth trading my yam in for something perhaps one class above it, so im thinking about an oldie such as the ones mentioned by rick, that if got at the right price, wont cost me too much money while hopefully giving me more of an actual audio upgrade (i could probably get e270ish for my yam)..

thats what im thinking anyway, ive spent an awful lot of money this year on a.v., its nice to have it all dont get me wrong, but its money that could (probably should) have been spent elswhere.. so any upgrading now has to give me big gains for smallish outlay

..

disclaimer....all of the above would mean nothing if a kuro falls within my grasp at anytime

Max i am just upgrading and have the same set up and situation as you .So my yamaha rx v765 is now up for auction and i have a pioneer sc-lx72 on the way hopefully today. There is 2 sites which have the pioneer sc-lx72 ex-demo free delivery for £750, i know theres a delivery issue and a price issue but if your yamaha sells then barter on there free delivery to IRE . Then you should have a stonking pioneer amp at reasonable price, Richer sounds have some great clearance prices on older amps but there pick up instore only, but hey youve got forum friends? Good luck ,
