That leaves me 13 million for the fit out.

Oh well I'm sure I will get sponsors for the largest floating music venue. Maybe " Marantz" down the side of the tanker?

It'll leave you a bit more than that, the price I gave was in dollars. That's for a small one though if you want a VLCC class ship then you've spent the lot already I'm afraid.

I don't think they could afford it...

I'd demo the 'halo' system/products of the most respected hifi manufacturers & decide whose 'house sound' suits my ears, rule out those with a poor reputation for reliability, then ask the final choice to build a one-off system to my specs - no expense spared. Reckon that approx £300k should be sufficient, & worth every penny.

had a mate who won just over 2 million south african rands .... in those days, the south african rand (currency) was pretty strong ....

the lotto draw was on the friday, and he only checked his lotto numbers in the pub on the sunday pm whilst reading the sunday paper .... was not there at the time, people say he went pale, asked a few people to double check his ticket, then bought the whole pub a few rounds of drinks (on tab as he never had enough cash on him)

a week later, his photo was splashed all over our local newspaper .... he had people queing up at his house asking for money for charity etc and found out that he had had family that he never knew existed

so, not so wise to have your photo and identity made public if you win a large amount of cash

he sold up, and moved about 200 miles away

I'd create a fund for promising new performers and novelists to help with their career development. I'd be picky about who could benefit and keep numbers very small so that I could focus resources on those with the most potential.

I'd also look to open a hi-fi shop with super-high standards of service, and the best demonstration rooms this side of the moon.

Hi-fi wise it changes regularly but it would have to be something which retains the sheer musicality of my current system. Audio Note would figure high on the list after what I've heard recently - I love their organic sound.
