Hi Joelsim, you may be right, but still my mp3s sound better on the AV than anywhere else 
And using a source other than my pc gives better results concerning the bass. My dilemma is whether a subwoofer would add the needed bass (mid-bass and not the 150- frequencies) or not. But thanks anyway for your comment.

I suspect the laptop is squeezing the life out of them, if you're just using the headphone out - get at least an external USB sound card, or an external DAC, or better still (just my opinion) put them all on an iPod and get a dock.
