I remembered the sawdust floors visiting the Pie and Mash shop in Tower Road near Southwark, we would skip school lunch time meals and head to the pie and mash shop. That lovely green liquor with a dashing's of malt vinegar and steamy hot mince pies.... so so nice, not sure there are any pie shops left.
What special traditional British snacks conjures up those fond memories? 🙂
