No Display?

The display panel on my Onkyo 875 has just gone out... disappeared.. studied user manual and only reference to the display is via the dimmer or display button on remote tried both several times but no joy still no info display on receiver, its a real inconvenience because i can't see volume levels or audio modes etc. do these receivers have LEDs or bulbs which illuminate the display?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated

Check that you haven't got pure direct mode on which switches off the display, if you haven't then basically you need the onkyo repaired.

As far as I know it's a fluorescent - ie self-illuminating - display. If it's out and you haven't used the display dimmer, have you accidentally engaged the Pure Audio mode? This will turn the display off.

If not, it may be a fault. May be worth doing a reset to default settings to see whether that solves the problems, but that will clear all your set-up. I'd suggest before you do that you call GenServe, who handle Onkyo servicing: the company is very helpful, and may be able to suggest a solution.
