Wonder if there are any nice amps with vu meter(under £2000)?

I can see the yamaha as 1200 2200 3200series with a nice vu meter.
There are some nice looking one with accuphrase like e280, but it is far more expensive.
Is there anymore?

Plenty of expensive ones..... And Technics G700 m2 but that's a little over budget at £2300
There is the TEAC AX505, but that's not exactly cheap but inside your budget
Second hand is your best route.

Hi,
Why not purchase an amplifier you like the sound of and as a DIY project, add your own VU meters ?

Shadders.

I had the Yamaha 2100 on home demo a few years ago. Like you I have a soft spot for dancing VU meters. The Yam sounds and looks the biz.

I never did or likely ever will get that VU meter thing. Bloody pointless.

Even worse with those recent NAD Digi amp pretend OLED ones. Looks like a Xmas light show.

Still, if you really want some, do it in style and get something like D'Agostini Monos.

C'mon DM, where's your sense of fun and adventure?

You're right, they are rubbish but they bring out the boyhood fun -- boys toys.
