Dear All

Ive been considering a new plasma for a while & i wanted to wait until the sales, i like the look of

the Panasonic TH-42PZ800 & have seen this going for around £1000 or £1200 with 5yr warranty.

However there are some other great panna plasma's around & i wanted to know out of the ones below, hich is the best one to get.

I wont be playing games but do have blue ray DVD. My budget is around £1000, should i hold out until the PZ800 comes down in price or go for one of these below.

Panasonic TH-42PZ80
Panasonic TH-42PX80
Panasonic TH42PZ85

cheers.

The 42" Panasonic plasma's are actually creeping back up in price and the Panasonic 5 year guarantee promotion ended yesterday. I would say if you want this model get it quick. It may come back down again when the model gets replaced near the end of 2009.

As for the other models, they are all great tv's, with the PX80 being the best if you're using the set primarily for 'tv'.

Thanks

whats the difference between the PX80 & PZ80 ?

Is the PZ85 not worth considering?

The TH42PZ85 is a cracking full HD TV which has Intelligent frame creation (which alot of people turn off. I dofor SD and sports)

The PX80 is only HD ready not full HD

The PZ80 is full HD tv without some of the bells andwhistleof the PZ85

Apparently on all the above the sound is not great compared to the PZ800 (this has seperate woofers and tweeters) however I have not noticed any problem with mine.

I was going to buy a PZ800, but then saw the PQ which to be honest was the same IMO between it and the 85. As I was getting a surround sound system at the time sound was not a problem.

Again I am very happy with my 85, got it for just under £800 from Audio T

Hi True Blue

Thanks for the info, so what i can gather is that the pz85 is just as good as the 800, just lacking in the sound department. Do you think the extra £££ on the pz800 over the pz85 is worth it? Looks like i would save around £400 - £500 if i went for the pz85.

IMHO if you are planning to buy a reciever or already have one the 85 is a no brainer.

The 800 is the flagship model, which has a few bells and whistles on (4 HDMI in), single sheet of glass design etc.

I personally put the money saved towards a better set of speakers (KEF 3005SE as oppsed to 2005.3).

But that was for my eyes, if you can get to see both performing then that is the best thing. As said though I have absolutely no probs (and love) my 85.
