As a owner of a Yamaha A-S3000 and seeing Yamaha have just brought out a range of new amplifiers like the Yamaha A-S2100 which they changed the power supply on but looking at the Yamaha A-S3200 i can not see what they have changed on this amplifier only the model number .
So here are some pictures of the new Yamaha A-S3200 and see if you can see what they have changed ?

:) lol there have always been two colors in the range black and sliver
As far as i can see they changed the feet and tuneup but not worth the extra money i do not think but anyone after one i would say buy the discounted A-S3000 and A-S2100 as they are a bargain

While they look pretty similar to their predecessors with their black and silver chunky casework and VU meter-dominated front, they utilise new technology and components.

For structural integrity and to avoid unwanted vibration, all three amps adopt a 'Mechanical Ground Concept' that begins with the bolts of the heavy-duty brass feet (iron on the AS1200) welded directly to the main chassis, followed by the large heat sink, power transformer and block capacitors directly bolted to the chassis.

The Yamaha A-S3000 has all this already but the Yamaha A-S2100 they have changed the power supply

I never took any notice of what-HiFi star rating when i brought my Yamaha A-S3000 as it comes down to what you have hookup it up with .
I do highly recommend the older models still to anyone who is in the market to buy a Yamaha amplifier a specially as the prices have dropped on the Yamaha A-S 2100 , 3000 .
Both units are built to a high quality and paired with the right speakers they both sound very good for the money .

on the website it states they now use "pc- triple c" internal speaker wire but i'm not sure what / how much of an upgrade that actually offers ?

i think this new amp is aimed at new owners as i'm not sure what, if any, sonic improvement it will have over the current a-s3000 unit.

will be interesting to see the improvements made on the new cd-s3200...

I do not think it will change anything and do not think it will justify the extra cost of changing amplifiers but to me both amplifiers have the same spec

the new amp retails at about 4k. for that sort of money you could buy a pretty decent pair of active speakers i believe.

Style and class never come cheap.

It will be interesting to see what sort of reviews (if any ) What Hi -fi gives.
As they weren't to keen on the previous AS3000

here is the stereophile review that is not exactly glowing :-
(come on what hifi review this please !)

Very true statement in the review:

"Yet, his sonic preferences were so different than my own that I doubt we would have liked each other's systems. That doesn't make one system "right" and the other system "wrong."

I've never heard a reference Yamaha so I can't comment, but it looks gorgeous.

That Sterophile review is terrible. Once again it becomes a word salad of some guy trying to sound all knowing and turning the review into an add for "feet" he thinks bring out the midrange. This is exactly the tripe that turns people away from high end audio in droves.

I've owned a Yamaha A-S2100 for years. Its beat every high end integrated and separated I've brought into the house sub 10k. I note the "high end" guys that do not carry Yamaha love to slam it.

Welcome to the forum.

Exactly right and that is true for almost all of the hi-fi world. The only exception I know of is when I asked my local dealer about the Oppo DVD players. He said they were the best on the market, but they didn't stock them as the mark up wasn't big enough! In the other 99% of cases, your rule above applies.

Was on my shortlist, but it was much delayed between Malaysia and UK During lockdown 1.
bought a Luxman L507 instead. No idea how it compares to the Yammy, but brilliant to my ears.
