Hi folks,

As it says in the subject line i'm new to this forum and wondered whether anyone could help with my current situation?

I'm looking to buy a new LCD tv as i'm moving house. I have a strict budget of upto £450 (not much I know)

Basically I'm looking for the best picture quality I can find and possible a set that has 1080p (as I'm running SKY HD through it and Bluray). I've seen some sets that seem to fit the bill but wondered what options or alternatives to the models I have seen are out there. Ive seen the:

Panasonic TX-26LXD70 but I can't find a single stockist

the 32LG6000 (this hasn't got the 1080p but apparently it's a decent set)

the Sony KDLV4000, not sure how good this set is.

Has anyone got any ideas or alternatives, I don't mind whether the set is 26" or 32" as my viewing distance will suit both sets. Thanks for reading

Gav

Go for the Sony 32kdlv4000 this is the newest set, and you will enjoy any 32" over 26" avaliable for £369 at Richer Sounds is great value for the price, cant really find any others in this price range.

Hi,

thanks for the reply, just rang richer sounds and guess what? They are all reserved and stock is unknown in my area lol. Still trying to track down the Panasonic, no joy !!

Again thanks for the reply it is very much appreciated,

Maybe i'm being too picky for my budget (I must admit I agonize over things lol). How do any of the 32" sets you have recommended compare to the Sony KDL32V4000. I've given up on the 26" Panasonic it seems to be obsolete. I also notice that the LG sets rarely get a mention although some have 4 stars reviews in your magazine. The search continues.

Around £450 is the LG 32PG6000, excellent little set. Check out the online forums of this great little plasma.

The 32in sets I suggested are all 4 stars. We've only tested the Sony KDL-32W4000 (£730) which is fabulous but a little outside your budget. Haven't seen the 32V4000, but we've been mightily impressed by most of Sony's TVs this year so I'd say it was well worth auditioning.
