Funny email entitled "Power Cord Dementia" sent out by Wylie Williams of The Speaker and Stereo Store, and shared because... “those who can't laugh at themselves leave the job to others". (Dave Berry):

"Sadly my last newsletter seems to have had unintended mental health consequences on some.

"My wife is considering upgrading the power cords for our KitchenAid ovens to that Crystal Cable. She read that a reviewer of that cable felt that when the buzzer sounds at the end of the oven's timed cooking cycles the timer tone sounds more live than with the standard cable which presents a slightly more pre-recorded sound. One reviewer felt that the timer tone's soundstage was larger with better separation of instruments. They were convinced they could hear a 2nd performer 6 feet and 2.73 inches to the left of the first performer playing the same buzzer tone as the first performer. It was obvious to the reviewer that the first buzzer performer was right handed and the second performer was left handed.
Clearly that would be money well spent but I told my wife we should wait until Absolute Sound names their AC power cord of the decade in case it is even better than the AC power cord of the year."
