Hi All,

I'm about to buy a Panasonic 42PZ80 and want to buy into Blu Ray fairly soon to make the most of 1080p. My first thoughts are with the matching Panasonic BD30, but I also need a new laptop and Dell currently offer a Blu Ray drive on their £499 Inspiron.

Does anyone have any experience using a PC as a Blu Ray source via HDMI, good or bad?

Thanks

Andy

Just check with Dell if the £499 laptop will have an HDMI port, or at least a DVI port, before going down that route.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 with Blu-ray drive and HD screen but it only has a VGA port which will not send HD to a TV

Buy the very fastest processor you can possibly get, with 4gig of RAM, disable Vista's Aero desktop and all the shareware junk that comes on a Dell. Then you might get judder-free pictures.

In fact, buy a BD30........

Sure, Inspiron 1525, just go to Dell UK site and follow the links.
